Bought the rifle in December but have not had the chance to take it to the range yet. But the appearance is better than expected based on some other reviews. The stock does have some flex as mentioned by others, but it is very minor and doesn’t contact the barrel when trying to squeeze them together, much less when using a bi-pod, so don’t expect to have a problem here. The rail scope mount is just that, a scope mount. I didn’t have issues mounting the scope in the spaces, as I used a 2 piece scope ring set. The bolt ran fairly smooth, but will and should smooth out more with use. Overall, very pleased with the look and feel of the rifle and my first transaction with ukrguns was smooth as I had hoped.

I bought this rifle knowing the stock would cheap and flimsy and overall craftsmanship ship would be cheap. That being said this little sucker will shoot. I didn’t bother breaking in the barrel just bore sighted it and started shooting. I first shot a 5 shot group with out letting the barrel cool with the super performance sst’s measuring 1.25. I then did the same thing with horndy eld-x 143 grain and shot perfect little clover leaf at just under 1/2 inch. I got customs rifles that I spent months working up loads to to do that. If your looking for a no frills rifles that will get down to business this little guy can do it. Note: I did have to sand the stock a little to truly float the barrel any pressure on the forend was causing contact between the barrel and stock.

Even ordering right before Christmas, the rifle shipped quick. The RAP in 6.5 Creedmoor shoots amazing and accurate. The only downside to this rifle is the flimsiness of the front end of the stock. I floated it and filled the front of the stock with glass bedding epoxy and it is much stronger, yet still light. Great purchase and great price for such an out-of-the-box accurate rifle.

Purchased this gun to see what all of the 6.5CM hoopla was about. Have to say this is a good gun out of the box, but with the Magpul American Hunter stock replacing the super flimsy factory stock, this became a great gun. With 143 gr ELD-X with 42.5 grains of Ramshot Hunter loaded .03″ off the lands, I was able to get a 10 shot group at 100 yds to measure 0.75″. If you do not want to replace the stock, I highly recommend that you at least bed the action and fill the butt stock full of silicone or another flowable media that can get down into the grip area void. This seems to be a serious weak spot on the stock. (You can put it on bags and push down on the action and watch how much the stock flexes at this point). That being said, I purchased this gun for $369 and spent $279 on the Magpul stock. I have approximately $650 in a rifle that I now would be happy to pay much more for.

This is one accurate firearm, my son and I took it out last Saturday, and put it thru the grind. got it sighted in at 25 yards, after bore sighting it, and then moved up to 100 yards. Both of us were shooting one whole clusters with every thing we were using from 100GRN-139GRN in that little 6.5 Creedmoor. Very little recoil, however, the report was extremely loud with the flash suppressor/recoil reducing gizmo, that I installed on the end of the barrel. Incidentally, I put a Burris 6.5X20X50 scope on it that I had here in my gun room. Out to 250 yards it was still shooting sub moa groups. BTW ukrguns really went out of there way in getting it shipped out to my FFL dealer. I placed the order on Sunday, and had it at my dealer on Tuesday. Definitely a 5 star proposition no matter how you look at it. I’ve read some bad reviews on this rifles stock about being flimsy, quite frankly it is a free floated barrel with the exact spacing on either side of the barrel to the stock. Incidentally we shot at least 20 rounds thru it before we even let it cool off, which didn’t even mess up the groupings. As far as the magazine is concerned, I notice it is made of plastic, but when we were all done shooting we never had any failures to feed once so ever, and we went thru 3 boxes of factory ammo, and box of reloaded ammo. Definitely recommend this rifle to anyone planning on hunting white tail, pronghorn, or just about anything involving midsize game, or just plinking.

Had to send back to ruger because extractor wouldn’t eject bullet, ruger fixed and sent back with no problems. Everything was good to go and rifle shoots great!

Ordered this gun from Buds and shipping was fast as always and no problems. Finally got around to putting a scope on the rifle and taking it out to sight it in 2 years later and turns out they provided me with the wrong size magazine. Looks like the magazine is for a .223 or something quite smaller because it will not load the 6.5 Crd rounds I have purchased. I was still able to hand load one at a time and get a good grouping with the rifle out to 100 yards but it is very annoying Ruger sent me the wrong size clip as I could not tell when I purchased the rifle and signed off for it because I did not try to load a round and it does not have any markings on the plastic magazine provided.

Purchased this rifle a few months ago and did not get to the range until last month. Mounted a Leupold VX-2 3x9x40MM scope on it. After sighting in the scope at 50 yards placed my target at 100 and the first 5 shots were in 4 holes that could easily be covered with a quarter. This type of shooting is way above my pay grade! At 66 years of age I am ecstatic with the results I am getting from this very reasonably priced rifle. This was achieved with Hornady American Gunner 140 gr BTHP ammo. I now have a new favorite range rifle!

Very basic and simple rifle. Budget friendly. Good for first timers. Mounted a leupold vx hog 1-4 scope. Only thing that i didn’t like was the 1st round would not chamber when 4 rounds are loaded in the mag. Other then that. ukrguns has great shipping. Thanks ukrguns!

Two part.. One the rifle is fantastic. For the price it is hard to beat! first day at range and after getting sighted in was shooting sub-moa groups at 300 yards. Stock is a bit on the flimsy side, but planning an upgrade soon. ukrguns… Fantastic service! Shipping took a little longer than expected but that was only due to ordered during Christmas rush.

This is my second Ruger American Predator rifle. I am very happy with this purchase! Very accurate right out of the box. Just mounted a scope on it and cleaned the factory oil off of it. Sighted it in with 3 shots. Can’t wait to try it out at longer distances. I have already done business with ukrguns again!

As far as buds service for this product goes, it was great like it was the last time I ordered from them. I ordered this rifle on a Tuesday and got it Friday. No complaints there, but when I got the rifle there was a nice big scratch on the underside of the barrel right down to the bare metal. Budget price gets you budget quality with the finish I guess. Not too impressed with Rugers quality control, guess I’ll think twice about buying another ruger firearm.

First of all ukrguns is great. I have purchased several firearms from them and it is always a smooth transaction. The ruger american is a great rifle but it does have a couple flaws. I have to take 1 star off for the stock. It’s pretty flimsy. I have to take another star off because of the rail. It is not a standard picatinny rail. If you use 2 piece scope rings it’s not a problem but if your like me and buy a 1 piece 20 moa scope mount you also have to replace the rail.
