The Pro Varmint has a heavy 16.5″ barrel threaded 1/2×28 for use with a suppressor or other muzzle device. Riding in a black-painted laminate stock, it incorporates features found on much more expensive stocks. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight. The stamped bottom metal of the 455 is gone, swapped for a classy two-piece interlocking system. To make scope fitment easier, we ditched the 90 degree bolt rotation in favor of 60 degree, allowing for larger ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. To top it all off, the 457 now features a trigger adjustable for weight, creep and over-travel.

Great little rifle from CZ. Very happy with the updates CZ made with the 457.
Bought this rifle to use as a poor boy’s precision trainer, and varmint sniper.
With good ammo and a good rest, mine will group 5rds under a 1/2″, at 25yds.
Mind you, this rifle isn’t broken in yet. I’m sure it will get better over time, and should group as well at 50 and 100yds.
No disappointments or buyer’s remorse here.

This rifle is an absolute tack driver. The fit and finish were both exactly what you pay for with a CZ rifle. The rifle is heavy compared to most rimfire rifles but the rigid bull barrel and stock make shooting small groups almost too easy. My main gripe is that the rifle ships with only one 5 round magazine. 10 round magazines are available but expensive. I liked this rifle so much I bought a second one. Buy from ukrguns with confidence.

This rifle is the bomb! Unpacked the rifle ,cleaned the barrel and removed the oil in the action and bolt. I added a little dry lube and went to my range in 28* cloudy weather.
After mounting a Hawke 4-12x Rimfire scope, I got it sighted in 1″ low at 25 yards. I moved my target out to 50 yards and shot four 5-shot groups with CCI Subsonic .22lr.
The larges group measured .68″. The smallest was one ragged hole at .397″. The rifle was on two bags and the barrel was cleaned between each group and then two fouling shots were fired into the berm before shooting for a group. The Hawke was set at 50yd parallax at 9x. Trigger pull was a crisp 3.5#.
All in all, a great rifle for the money. CZ has done very well by me, yet again.
I also would like to add my experience with ukrguns was great and their shipping was fast.
Thanks ukrguns!

The rifle doesn’t shoot as well as I expected. Using Eley, E Wolf, Norma Match, and the rifle shoots poorly
I own a Model 455 in 17 Hmr and it’s very accurate. I’ve shot CZ pistols in competition over a number of years being very satisfied.
I really wanted a model MTR but can’t find one. I hope in time this rifle improves somewhat.

Great gun, very accurate, solid platform. Doesn’t feed one particular brand of ammo well, but runs flawlessly with everything else I’ve used.
By design it’s a little heavy (ie stable), so great for bipod/shooting bag and precision shooting.
Well manufactured.

Bought at ukrguns 3 weeks ago. Gun seems to be exactly what CZ says it is. Fit and finish is perfect. Bolt is smooth and trigger seems very good. Have not shot it yet as finding rings and bases and a scope somewhat of a challenge with Covid and all. Hope to be able to do a review on accuracy soon.

Great little .22 Super accurate tack driver. The stock is good quality. Highly recommend!

This rifle is well made, but the price point is high for any .22lr rifle. The stock is solid and heavy, perfect for stability. The bolt action is smooth and reliable. CZ should consider lowering their prices slightly.

I love this rifle, heavy for a 22LR but you get back in accuracy when used of a bipod, excellent trigger right out of the box.
Glad I bought this off ukrguns (my first time), simple to order, good price and fast delivery to my FFL.
My only gripe with the gun is CZ persist in a dovetail rail for the scope but this is easily fixed with a rail mount from area419 products.
Buy this gun and you won’t be disappointment

This is a very nice rifle and satisfies all the criteria I was hoping to meet. Specifically, I was looking for a 22LR rifle that is “more accurate than I am”, under $700, a solid stock that could take some abuse, with a fairly short, threaded barrel. I added a 3×12 Athlon Talos scope (with BDC reticle) on a set of Warnex 722M rimfire rings. A friend and I took it out to the range last week to sight it in and see what I could do with it. We started by sighting it in at 25 yards, then spent most time at 50 yards. I used CCI standard velocity to re-sight in at 50 yards and found I could hit my point of aim at 100 yards using the 3rd “dot” on the BDC for holdover. I didn’t spend much time getting groups at 100 yards, so I don’t have anything to report there, but at 50 yards, I shot with CCI standard, Lapua Center-X, ELEY subsonic hollow point, Aguila Super Extra, and RWS High Velocity hollow point. I shot back to back with no cleaning or additional shots between ammunition types, which I know can be problematic, but I managed good groups for all 5 with only one “flyer” on the Eley. Lapua and Eley shot about a half inch below POA, Aguila shot about 1/2″ above POA, and RWS an inch above POA. The best group was RWS at about 7/16″, but the Eley and Aguila groups were almost as good (not counting that flyer). Lapua and CCI were 9/16″ groups, so very close as well. I consider myself a fairly inexperienced shooter, so I am very happy with those results. All shooting was at a range with concrete tables, scope on 12x, and using sand bags for stabilizing the rifle. The best compliment I can give this rifle my friend who went with me to the range has lots of firearm experience and was impressed enough that he may have to put it on his list. Some additional notes:
– the barrel passed the “free floating” test, but it is slightly off center in the stock
– I really like the feel of the finish on the stock; easy to grip, seems durable and high quality
– the stock itself is comfortable to hold and shoot, and the comb works well with the scope for me
– it is fairly heavy once you add the scope, but this was expected and doesn’t bother me
– I think the scope would do better with the Warnex 721M rings to lower it a bit as I had some extra room between the barrel and the front optic bell
– product delivery and order process was smooth and fast from ukrguns
– I like the safety on these rifles; simple and intuitive
– the mag release is a little hard to use; not a big deal but if the tang was just 1/16″ longer it would be much easier to use without having to think about it
